We will then focus on teaching an advanced method of I Ching reading called Wen Wang Gua. This uses Chinese astrology in place of the traditional texts and makes the I Ching much more specific and clearer to understand. In simple terms, this method will not only tell you what will happen but when. Being an extremely complex system to master, we include step-by-step instructions, analysis and numerous case studies to make learning both fun and empowering. Please note, that this I Ching course teaches the original or source I Ching diivination which is based on Chinese astrology and only briefly deals with its imagery and myth, which came much later and is refered to as Traditional I Ching. | Chapter 1 Ancient symbols |
As the I Ching texts are based on historical events, we begin this I Ching course with its History. This will show you the hidden meanings of the texts. We then start to build the ancient symbols and learn how to prepare and cast a divination. Once proficient in casting we continue to unravel the mysteries of the traditional I Ching, through the "Great Treatise", changing lines, nuclear, reverse and inverse gua's. |  |
| Chapter 2 The Shi Ying system |
We now leave the traditional I Ching texts and begin to look at incorporating Chinese astrology into the I Ching with the Shi Ying system. Shi means Subject and represents the enquirer, whilst Ying is taken as Object and represents the external influences. By looking at the elemental relationship between these two aspects we can quickly see whether a situation is achievable or not. We then move onto the heart and soul of a hexagram known as the "Gua Shen" and learn how to identify these lines from the hexagram palaces. |  |
| Chapter 3 Assigning the Earthly Branches Chapter 4 Assigning attributes |
We now incorporate the Chinese zodiac into the Shi Ying system by assigning the Earthly Branches. This provides a more in depth analysis and allows us to assign the attributes that represent relationships, wealth, power, promotion, fame and fortune as well as support. In fact, literally everything can be assigned an attribute and we provide many examples, step by step guides and case studies. |  |
Chapter 5

This chapter shows you how to judge the magnitude or strength of effects and results. Most importantly, it will show you when the results will happen, which is unique in I Ching study. Now that you can correctly assign an attribute to a line, we look at enquiry lines, and the effects of not finding a suitable enquiry line. Along the way we learn and practice techniques such as "Flying and Hiding", "Advancing and Retreating", Source, Annoying and Hostile lines. Once again we provide many examples, step by step guides and case studies to help you assimilate this knowledge. |

Chapter 7
|
In Chapter 7 we learn how to deal with multiple enquiry lines, and the effects of having the Annoying or Hostile lines appearing on them. We also revisit the Bodyline and apply new techniques to it. We also learn the effects of "Vanishing" and "Entering the Tomb ". Here we apply the effects of Form School principles the mother of Feng Shui and learn some ancient secrets via trick songs. |
